About

Fabrizio

Fabrizio was born in Palermo, Italy, in September 1982. From an early age, he showed a deep passion for music. His father, sensing that passion, built him a homemade drum kit, as the family could not afford to buy one. At the age of twelve, he received his first keyboard, revealing his perfect pitch and natural musical sensitivity. At fourteen, he took part in his first music competition at the Crystal Theater in Palermo, placing fifth out of ten participants with a performance of Stevie Wonder's I Just Called to Say I Love You. A year later, his father gave him his first classical guitar, and Fabrizio began playing songs by Lucio Battisti and Claudio Baglioni — the latter becoming an important source of inspiration throughout his artistic journey. In the following years, Fabrizio began composing his own songs, including L'amore è, Monika, Vorrei, and Esmeralda. In May 2000, he performed his first concert at the Crystal Theater in Palermo, achieving two sold-out shows, followed by another successful performance in June at Piazza Politeama. In 2009, he moved to Norway, where he performed in local venues as a piano bar musician and guitarist with the band Question 2. The following year, he relocated to Milan and joined the orchestra Mimmo & i Mistral as a pianist and backing vocalist. Later that year, he happened to replace the band's drummer and went on to take the position permanently for an entire year. With the Mistral, Fabrizio performed over 130 concerts across Northern Italy, appearing in town squares, dance halls, and arenas, becoming the group's official drummer and backing vocalist. In December 2011, Fabrizio gave his final solo concert in Bosisio Parini before returning to his beloved Sicily. In 2015, he returned to Norway and composed Insieme per sempre, a song dedicated to his father, who had passed away the previous year. During the winter of 2020, at the height of the pandemic, he traveled to the Lofoten Islands, where he wrote Innamorarsi di te, a piece dedicated to the Catholic Church of Oslo and donated to the local Italian community. Today, Fabrizio has fully resumed his musical career, supported by the love and encouragement of his wife. He is currently planning a tour scheduled for 2026 across major Norwegian hotels and venues. In 2025, he took part in the The Voice of the Sea selections in Athens and Mykonos, reaching the finals and placing fourth among forty participants.
